Successes to share with others that have helped in walking
with the Lord:
Some of these prayers are quoted word for word and others
are thought processes and intents of what the saint can do to help their
walk with the Lord
Successful prayers that have worked:
- Lord you take over my mind and body
and work through me. I have given up on myself and
know that there is no good thing in my own flesh, so I need your power
to accomplish Your will. "Then said Jesus
unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that
I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught
me, I speak these things." (John 8:28)
- Commanding
yourself in the name of Jesus to do His will, His way and to be totally
holy. "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained
you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should
remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give
it you." (John 15:16)
Note keyword "may" because we need to always ask His will
be done, not our own in all matters of prayer request.
- Thanking Jesus for those
things that have not happened yet as though they have already happened. " (As it is written, I have made thee a father
of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth
the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though
they were." (Rom 4:17)
- Realize we cannot depend
on ourselves but entirely on the Lord. "For I know that in me
(that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present
with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not." (Rom 7:18)
- That grabbing the Bible
at the minute you first think of it before anything else distracts you,
getting a daily reading of even a few verses and more as your able makes
such a big difference especially when you ask Jesus to open your eyes and
reveal what His word has for you. "If any of you lack wisdom,
let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not;
and it shall be given him". (James 1:5)
- That faith needs a response
and a sacrifice to be fruitful. Ask Jesus to make any
thing that is causing you doubt to instead remove the doubt or frustration
about it and make it right within your spirit. "Even so
faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." (James
2:17)
- Some prayers need to
be spoken in secret so the enemy cannot hear precisely what you are asking
and mess with it.You can still praise God and ask
Him to help you and direct you in the matter verbally without revealing
what the particular matter or weakness is verbally. Since
the enemy cannot read your mind, there is the advantage in stealth prayer.Some things we can ask openly but certain things that
you feel are needful to be kept between you and God should be in the unspoken
prayer request.No lion shall be there,
nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there;
but the redeemed shall walk there:(Isa 35:9)But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet,
and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret;
and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.(Mat 6:6)( Bear in mind
this does not negate the need for open corporate and group prayer requests
when the church is assembled together.
